embracing anger

Hi,
It's good to see everyone getting the hang of the blogg, I've been out of it for a couple of weeks juggling life and death... dying grandfather on the one hand and brand new neice (4 days old!) on the other, life weirdly comes into view. So sorry about absence.... sometimes you need to disapear for a while.

Lots is going on for me at the moment workwise, there is momentum which is really exciting.
It all started when i decided to embrace anger "To be female and conscious anywhere in the world is to live in a constant state of rage..." that was a line in one of the films we showed for the film festival. Since I heard it I realised that anger was something i needed to address, something that I share with alot of people who are all trying not to feel angry because we are told it's bad for us and for society. i disagree. I think anger can mobilise us... i'm not talking mobs with sticks (though I'm not ruling this out!) I'm talking action. Its time to act.
Since embracing anger I feel it so physically, I am not joking, the things which used to give me a knot in my stomach now give me a phsyical pain in my kidneys! its not pleasent but it makes me feel alive, and i love feeling alive!

So I'm acting, I've signed up to a training course for facilitating direct action training - this starts in Jan (though I've already done some basics). Some women and I have decided to ressurect the feminists against pornography movement (which died in the 80's) We are organising a mass training day in Febuary to mobilise women in direct action, and also - this is really random but exciting... i'm going to do a collaborative project for the Hayward Gallery next year about peace, this was also born from anger as the artist leading the work emailed a call out for artists who are interested in peace - she's coming at it from a very spiritual, medative perspective where as I am interested in the physicality of peace-working collaboratively in a situation of disagreement/conflict, the physicality of peace (which I can't speak about without talking about war)

So all pretty exciting for me anyway.
Super tired.....
see you all soon,
Rachel x
