something encouraging...
some words of Dhammapada - Sayings of the Buddha, 'Yourself:'
Your work is to discover your work
And then with all your heart
To give yourself to it
- Am very busy with various deadlines so have not responded specifically to anyone - but look forward to catching up (at last!) on 25th in Brum..xxx and onwards....

a saying of the buddha never fails to hit the spot does it?
wouldnt it be great to make art like that. something everyone could relate to and get something from.
too right! - but then to be motivated by an intention to make art that everyone can relate to would not be art atall would it...? an intention to be true to what your inner impulse is and not an external result is the thing...where fear of disclosure meets creation...or something like that.. xx
yes fear of disclosure...it is an interesting subject and of course Buddha would have no such thing being totally enlightened...i consider buddhas sayings a s a kind of poetic art but i know whatyou mean...possibly that art is not about perfection but about creation (these two things are thereby not the same.)
that is also an interesting hypothesis thAT perfection and creation cannot be the same. this would do away with the notion of god as a perfect being and would csrtainly fit in with the buddha's principle that creation is about becoming and becoming is ultimately about suffering...dear god lisa i think we have solved the riddle of the universe...lets get painting! or maybe lets just meditate.
back to fear of disclosure....i will be thinking about that one for the rest of the day now...i have had two coffees and am 'away with it!'
