A Stevenage gathering
Hello people,
katherine your words are always so thoughtful, reading your posts make me feel like i'm there in the room with you. You mentioned open studios and stevenage. yes this is still happening.
23/24th june is the weekend. fairlands farm, fairlands way, stevenage, SG11NU is the address.
to all of you, rachel had mentioned camping over. this is a possibility although we have to be quiet about it so if your interested in this please call me on my mobile 07747 897429
you never know we could document something for the live art development agency....
other than that you can get me by e-mail or phone as got my head down over the next couple of weeks on community projects making an 8ftx8ft recycled chess set to go on exhibtion in our town gallery in July, working with 14/15 yrs from one of our local schools. the set is based on myths fantasy and legends.
in a strange way I'm really looking froward to this project as it's a chance to get all 3 dimensional again with a load of recycled material, plaster and papier mache.
hope to hear from some of you soon.
hugs jon
PS on the note of my bladder, still pissing for england and waiting for more appointments to come through, a word of advice... don't touch any of my painted works the water may have been recycled :o) things are improving as now on tablets to help overcome the flow problem so starting to try and travel again.

Hey Jon ...or anyone/everyone else reading...
Sorry to hear your still not well! I gues syou're fairly tied up in Stevenage so you're not making long trips away at the moment.
I am hoping to make it down to Stevenage for your weekend...how easy is it to get to from the train station, (no car yet!)? I might try to persuade a friend to drive and come with me, but it depends on who else is around really...I might send a text to everyone i have a number for and suggest we all meet for lunch on either teh saturday or sunday...maybe saturday is best, simply because of trains...
Hi katherine, and any one else reading the blog and comments
if you can get the ball rolling we can camp in the farmhouse garden if people have tents. I need confirmation on numbers ASAP
If your wishing to come just for the day then we are about a hour ramble from the train station (you know what it's like when there are shops around and people to look at)
As you come from the train station you will come to the clock tower (very mondrian)
At Clock tower (looking at woolworths) Turn left and head towards the mosaics/seating outside the westgate centre.
If you are stood in the middle of the mosaics you will have a coffee shop on your right hand corner in front of you- walk forward from there - go under the under pass (admire the concrete art relief)
head across the path which leads you through the blind gardens (you'll see tower blocks in front of you) When you get out of the gardens turn left and walk to the main raod (this is fairlands way)
facing the main road you need to turn to your right, From here you just walk in a straight line up a slight hill (ish) away from the town centre. keep walking along this path/cycletrack you will cross two roads (both bedwell crescent)
after the second bedwell cresent there will be a long run of shrubbery, then you will find that the path drops down to a pot holed tarmaced driveway/carpark. commence around the edge of the shrubbery -
here you have reached fairlands valley park (there will be a white clapperboard out on the road saying open studios)wander down the tarmac road and look to your right -
you should see an old victorian farmhouse. with a red front porch. you have found us.
failing that there are plenty of taxi's at the train station and I believe it may be less than a fiver to get to the farmhouse.
I'm not sure what bus brings you up this way but i'm sure one does and the bus station is in the town centre near the clock tower.
I aim to run a performance poetry piece from about 2ish. (scared yes lots, not sure as this is the first real attempt in front of a larger audience)
Any queries give me a call
Hugs to all
Jon
