A. FUNDING/COMMISSIONS/PLATFORMS/CALLS FOR ARTISTS

A.1) ACT ART 5 \'Till Death Us Do Art\' (CALL FOR ARTISTS)
On Friday 8th June 2007 the 5th annual London ACT ART event takes place in a 1000 capacity venue in London Bridge, London, U.K

ACT ART celebrates difference, supports cross-discipline ways of working and offers a safe environment to exhibit work in all disciplines. Currently we\'re still able to include more video work in the june 07 event. Both performance for the camera and documentation of live works are considered, with a particular emphasis on works that are experimental, radical, confrontational and non-mainstream.

ACT ART programmes work by a wide spectrum of artists who are united by an interest in the body and ranges from undergraduate students to established performance artists. We believe in bringing emerging artists together alongside more established practitioners in an attempt to create a dialogue between artists and their work, as well as staging an event that is open to everyone.

B. PERFORMANCES/EVENTS

B.1) These Horses perform TAKE IT HOME at Arnolfini Bristol, friday 23rd Feb
TAKE IT HOME

7.30pm Friday 23rd February at Arnolfini, Bristol. www.arnolfini.org.uk

A list of instructions (talk of bandleaders, boxing coaches, jazz players, soul legends)
demand to be danced (someone’s gotta get up and say something)

Take it Home
...in which three performaners get up and dance, drum, soak and pompom their way through an uncompromising list of performative instructions. Dances taken from films, standards, pop videos and parties are remembered and reinvented. From the Swayze to the Dance of Sorrow through the lexicon of Take it Somewhere, Turn it Around and Bring it Down to the Ground.

An exploration of the want, the thrill, the hips, the hope, the noise and the heart, in an exhaustive attempt to start something new by whatever means necessary.

Created in resience at Sophiensaele, Berlin, summer 2006. Supported by an Arts Council England Live Art Fellowship and the Arnolfini We Live Here Associate Artists scheme.
